We study competitive videogame teams, players,
organizers, creators, entrepreneurs, and fans.
Our research examines esports players and fans, investigating the cognitive, social, and behavioral aspects of competitive videogame play and community participation. We take a game agnostic approach, although most of our work focuses on online team gameplay, fan production, and community social interaction. We use a mix of methods ranging from game analytics and quantitative surveys to field observations and conversation analysis.
